Motion design, or motion graphics, is the animation of layered design and text elements, often with video and audio elements. Adobe After Effects, the industry-standard software for 2D animation and visual effects, is used to create motion graphics for broadcast, film, video, and social media marketing. In this course, master the essentials of designing and creating motion graphics projects from the ground up: working with layers and layer mattes, creating keyframe-based animations, importing video and layered Photoshop and Illustrator files, animating logos and text, creating shape morphs, applying effects, and working in 3D space. Learn how to export videos to formats from GIF to MP4 and QuickTime videos for Facebook, Instagram, websites, and Snapchat. Get hands-on practice through in-class exercises, detailed handouts, video lessons, and homework assignments.
