Program Description

Coaching is an increasingly desired business and managerial skill set that facilitates results and objectives for individuals, clients, employees, managers, leaders, and teams. The Advanced Diploma in Coaching is designed for professionals who desire to build foundational and practical knowledge of coaching as a development process that shapes leaders' abilities to achieve professional and organizational goals, as well as individuals' abilities to achieve personal goals. As a student in this program, you will learn and apply skills and techniques that support empowered client goal achievement by incorporating multidisciplinary approaches, theory, and foundations into the applied practice of coaching. This two-semester, blended program is geared toward motivated professionals who seek to improve their coaching skills through focused practice and who wish to pursue coaching as a profession or to grow their leadership and management skills within their existing profession.

The Diploma is designed to educate professionals who are new to coaching and to retrain practicing coaches in a structured and thorough way. It leverages a defined competency model that focuses on foundations and industry best practices, as well as the skills, expertise, and structure required to effectively coach clients in individual conversations--from acquisition and engagement contracting through successful completion.

The program may be submitted for review directly to ICF (International Coach Federation) as coach-specific training hours when applying for an ICF credential via the ICF Portfolio Path.

Work Product

In addition, reflection papers will be used to identify supporting discovery and awareness of values, bias, and behaviors; to clarify desired outcomes; and to change behavior through the lenses of adult learning theory, contemporary neuroscience, and relevant psychological models, as well as systems and change theories and philosophy.
