About this badge

In this class, students learn to recognize how Americans use intonation and stress to add meaning to a message. You will listen to native speaker dialogues and analyze how the tone of voice reinforces or contradicts what the speaker is saying. You will also examine the difference between formal and informal vocabulary choice. You will listen to recordings of short speeches you make and analyze where and how you need to correct your pronunciation. By the end of the course, you will be able to recognize how important it is to listen to how a message is presented as well as the message itself. (For non-native speakers of English)
