About this badge

This online course is conducted as a translation workshop. Each week, translate a 500-word excerpt from a work of fiction or nonfiction. Also, participate in the written discussion forum and in live, weekly online sessions as you develop research techniques and hone your skills in French to English translation. This course focuses on translation of world literature, and weekly assignments are drawn from select works by authors from the Francophone world. To help you to break into the profession, the practicalities of the business side of literary translation also are discussed.
