Advanced Mandarin: Current Issues, Reading, and Speaking is an advanced course devoted primarily to reading and discussing contemporary topics in Chinese. The aim of this course is to expand vocabulary, improve reading comprehension, and maintain conversation skills through presentation and discussion. Upon completion of this course, be able to hold a conversation in Mandarin, read short Chinese newspaper/magazine articles with the aid of a dictionary, and apply your expanded knowledge of contemporary China. All reading materials will be from actual media sources, and assignments will utilize multimedia tools.
